The Little Rock Fire Stations #23 was designed to be a highly efficient and environmentally friendly building for the community. The project is currently seeking LEED certification and utilizes solar orientation, green products, and site impact studies. It also includes the latest technology in exhaust EVAC systems, a station-alerting systems, and it supports both a city and private network.
The creek behind the station was extensively studies, and recommendations were made to keep it a viable habitat for the community. The construction project not only focuses on the building, but also several hundred feet of creek bed in both directions from the site. The intention is to restore the natural habitat while employing low impact strategies on the building site.
