The Greenbrier High School FEMA shelter is designed for day-to-day use as a new home for the Greenbrier girls volleyball team. The building is located at the end of the classroom wing of the high school and shares the parking lot with the basketball arena. As a sports venue, the building contains a 94’ basketball court as well as a full-size volleyball court. Additionally, there are volleyball sleeves for two cross-courts. There is a coaches’ office, two dressing rooms, restrooms, and a small room for concessions. As a FEMA shelter, the entire building is designed to meet FEMA 361 standards and house 1,625 occupants during a storm event.
